Scrubbin’..

Keep them opinions
Where they belong

Straight in the shitter

Flush’em down

That stink
That stank

The thought
Of you havin’
Control

Over another

Take that flatulence

That smelly
Burnin’ your asshole
Diarrhea

Get a whiff

Do you smell it

The thought
That’s not

Even close
To bein’ acceptable

Tryin’ to impose
Your beliefs

Onto
Someone else

Drop it all

Straight in the shitter

I ain’t no quitter

But to hell
With all that

Nonsense

Keep your opinions
To yourself

‘Cause I ain’t scrubbin’
Your toilet
And you ain’t scrubbin’
Mine

But it is time
To flush that shit
Down the drain

The smell
Is gettin’ repulsive

my previous self

one of those days
you step in shit
and that stench
stays with you
no matter how
much you clean,
etc.

i like to think
of that as a
punishment
for a previous
life

and if i had
to guess

my previous
self must have
done some crazy
ass shit as the
punishments
have been rather
regular throughout
this life

so, i guess the next
life is when the money
and pussy comes

Deep-fried Daffodils

When your friend says, “Ya know,
it’s like your past-life karma got you
reincarnated into the actual fan the shit hits,”
then cracks up through her tonic bubbles,
lime shining sparkles through the glass,
it’s the kind of thing that may make
a person who didn’t understand
get hurt. Maybe even cry.

Not me. I get the joke.
Friends get a license
to say stuff like that.
Especially ones from Kentucky,
where we deep-fry daffodils
and dress up grit with earrings,

where the moon lights
soft through punches,
and words become
by tone.
From her, those just mean love.
Plus, she’s who scrapes it off.

Shit Walk

I have to go on my shit walk this morning

no caffeine in the house
no car to drive to the gas station

I’m a dangling turd
slumping down the road

in a medication haze,
my eyes filled with the powder of pills

the sun so bright
nothing but glare

traffic pushes me to the side of the street
I feel like blacktop

by the time I get to the gas station
I must really look like shit
that’s what the attendant tells me anyway
