Master Or Servant
It was said he was the Master,
the Ring-Master in the circus of life.
All the animals succumbed to his power.
He was a true professional,
top of his class.
But humans were outside the ring,
and so they evaded his power,
made sure he knew his place
in their scheme of things.
Yes, in their scheme of things.
it was them who cracked the whip
and made sure he knew that
he was servant not master
of two-legged beasts.
And that is how he knew his place.
It was all he had
for then.
