Nice Rack

When Melanie posted a selfie
on her Facebook page,
wearing a tight sweater,
her volupté on display,
she wasn’t sure how to react
to the comment, “Nice rack,”
left by a man she didn’t actually know.

Going through a divorce,
still in her forties,
she was glad for the compliment
on her appearance,
but the comment was crude;
she felt like an object.

Only, wasn’t that what Facebook
was all about? Indeed,
what Zuckerberg and his pals at Harvard
originally created Facebook for?
Hadn’t she been showing off,
displaying her assets to her own advantage?

In the end, Melanie unfriended the man.
Even though his salacious comment
had gratified her vanity,
she just didn’t need this guy in her life.
