Mothership

I’m waiting for the mothership
to come and get me
To take me away from this rotten planet
This world of shit
that keeps me hostage
day after goddamn day
I’ll fly as far away
from these people as I can get
Because they’re all
just a bunch of fucking drones
Who don’t care
that their every movement is being tracked
and handle all their relationships
with the stroke of a key
Boom-you’ve been unfriended
Boom-you’ve been fired
Bang-you’re terminated
Bang-you’re single again
Take me to any planet you can find
I don’t care which one
Because I’m tired
of walking these streets
With my brain ticking like a bomb
I’m tired of trying to assimilate
and become part of this excuse for culture
It’s never gonna fucking work
Especially now
that I’ve come to believe
in worlds other than this one
I believe in UFOs,
alien technology, crop circles.
Area 51 and all that shit

And I believe
that they’re out there
Somewhere
A space cruiser
full of dreadlocked aliens in denim jackets
Cruising low and searching for me
Soon they will lock onto my coordinates
The last wounded soldier
Running on two wounded legs
and tracking blood through
this concrete hellhole
There he is,
they will say
Bring her down easy
and try not
to kill too many civilians
Send down the tractor beam
if you have to
Just get this poor bastard
out of here
