Sylvan Esso Sings
guitar strums me in…
*
27 seconds to lyrics
out of my hearing vision
sounds like funeral singers
inspired by Emily Dickinson
*
because
all my friends
are funeral poets
waiting to perform
waiting, waiting
*
…guitar strums me out
Silencing the Forest
You must heed the threat
turn your resourcefulness
forward and venture towards
the noise, the uproar, the chaos
pulsating and ungrounding you
to catch the forest crying out in pain
persuade them to turn off the chainsaw
grinding through the trees
causing the forest to fall silent
vanishing, becoming undone, unable
to go back to being, stifling
its beauty and growth
preserve the forest’s glory
before it is no more
than a memory
