NOTES FROM THE DEAD
Once flesh,
in the visible world,
I am this stone.
It bears my name
and figures that’s enough.
You can touch it
but any response
is all up to you.
My stone will, forever,
have a stone’s life.
Maybe my image
floats up in your head.
But, without the being
to back it up,
I am increasingly
decreasing.
