Piss it Away.

Milo had staggered down the alley
and was pissing against the wall,
when he’d suddenly felt something
sharp press against his back and
noticed the three hooded idiots
stood behind him, as they’d
told him to empty his pockets.

Using his free hand,
Milo had tried to empty a pocket
but stumbled about in the process –
causing the group to leap back.

Still oblivious and waiting at
the end of the alley I’d then heard
some shouting echo onto the street
and peered down the alley to see
Milo holding the three gobshites back,
as he’d pissed away like
a freshly opened bottle of bubbly,
caught in a washing machine on speed.

I’d then drunkenly swayed down the alley
clenching my fists, whilst in hysterics –
but before I could even get close,
a bottle had flown above my head –
smashing into fragments
on the dirty floor.

Having also overheard the imbroglio,
several of the local drunks now
stood behind us shouting and cursing –
as the trio of muggers fled one by one
down the far end of the alley.

Milo finally zipped up and we’d headed
out of the alley to cheers and applause –
we were still a couple of deadbeats
but that night we’d wander on singing,
laughing and undefeated.
