Bed Crumbs
listen, it’s twizzlers
abundance it’s candy
extravagance. it’s chocolate chex
mix in bed, distraught handfuls
sheets that unfurl
a moon
on a stick deep
melancholy for the impossible
connection, enormously
mistaken as more than a
graze of your lips
a girl is poised to eat
crumbs that tumble
into bed with you aghast
your extraordinary mind exists
where candy can be cast-off
nixed and adrift
she asks: what do you want?
o o o thou sweetness
what-is-this-and-that
-and-the-other-thing?
no bother, chex mix
gone from your shroud
now except one
fallen crumb
