Publishing since 2015, officially founded in 2018, Cajun Mutt Press publishes full-length paperback poetry/artwork/flash fiction/short story collections, chapbooks, and weekly featured writer spots here on the main webpage. Featured writers are posted every Wednesday. I’m currently only accepting poetry submissions for featured writer spots. I’m taking all kinds of literature and art for Night Owl Narrative. You’ll find submission guidelines for both listed below.
I prefer transgressive literature. Not a fan of rhymes or squishy writing about beauty and love. Send your deepest, darkest contemplations; the ones you’ve been keeping hidden. I’m looking forward to reading y’all’s work.
Featured Writer and Night Owl Narrative submissions are free, but donations to the TIP JAR are greatly appreciated. CMP also has logo merch available through our online STORE.

Featured Writer:
OPEN for 2026
Copy/paste up to 3 poems in the body of the email, unpublished work only, no simultaneous submissions, and add “Featured Writer” to the subject line. Include a short bio and an author photo. I’ll try to get back to everyone within a week or two. Please be patient. It’s an automatic rejection if you send a document instead of pasting your poetry into the email, or don’t include a bio and author photo with your submission.
Night Owl Narrative (a Cajun Mutt rag):
OPEN for Issue 7
Unpublished work only (except artwork), no simultaneous submissions. In a document set to 10-pt Times New Roman, send up to 5 poems, 3 pieces of flash fiction (one page each), 1 short story (8-page max), interviews, columns, and/or 5 original pieces of artwork/photography. Please include a bio and headshot with your work. Add “Night Owl Narrative” to the subject line. You can also take out an AD if you have a bookstore or other literature/art-related business you’d like to promote. $25 for half-page, $50 for full-page. Inquire by email.
